The purpose of this step is to list the target groups, that is, the set of people or groups that the company wants to reach with the project communication.


In this step, we must spend time on an in-depth analysis of the target groups and divide, if necessary, each target group into subgroups according to criteria that we think are most appropriate.



In general, there are two main categories of targets: professionals (the B to B market) and individuals (the B to C market). BtoB marketing, which stands for business to business, concerns the commercial activity between two companies and requires adapted marketing tools as we have just specified in the first section.
